This section includes function descriptions grouped by the following
function types:
■ IDH Max mortise
■ IDH Max cylindrical.
IDH Max mortise
functions
The following lists describe how the latchbolt, outside lever, and inside
lever operate for each IDH Max mortise function.

EEL–Electrically Locked–Fail Safe EEU–Electrically Unlocked–Fail Secure
Latchbolt operated by:
■ inside lever/knob
■ outside lever/knob when
electric power is removed
from the solenoid
■ outside key
Outside lever/knob locked
by:
■ applying 12 VDC to the
solenoid; remains locked only
while power continues to be
applied
Outside lever/knob unlocked
by:
■ removing 12 VDC from the
solenoid
Inside lever/knob is always
unlocked
Latchbolt operated by:
■ inside lever/knob
■ outside lever/knob when
electric power is applied to
the solenoid
■ outside key
Outside lever/knob locked
by:
■ removing 12 VDC from the
solenoid
Outside lever/knob unlocked
by:
■ applying 12 VDC to the
solenoid; remains unlocked
only while power continues
to be applied
Inside lever/knob is always
unlocked
